Did you know that CbusFoodBloggers consists of over 50 different bloggers/instagrammers? Some of us you may already stalk follow, and others you haven’t yet had the chance to meet! In an effort to help our readers get to know us and the bloggers behind our group, we conduct monthly interview highlighting one of our members. This month, we have Caitlin Pung from Cait’s Columbus Eats!

Cait’s Columbus Eats

  1. How did you become a food blogger? What is the theme of your blog/IG?

I have always loved trying new restaurants and can confidently say eating is one of my favorite hobbies. I found myself always snapping photos of my food, but had no where to put them, so that’s how my page was created. I focus mainly on the Columbus food scene, but I still document all other food adventures (and occasionally post my own recipes)!

  1. What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself or others?

My favorite meal to cook others is linguine with a creamy lemon garlic sauce. It’s amazing! But if I’m just cooking for myself, I like to stick to simple and healthy recipes. My go-to dinners are stuffed peppers, cauliflower stir fry, or sweet potato and turkey hash!

  1. What makes the Columbus food scene great? Or what would you change?

One thing I love about the Columbus food scene is that there are always new, unique restaurants opening up. I never get bored because there is always something new to try! Columbus also offers a large variety of and has almost every type of cuisine from Asian to Spanish.

  1. What restaurant(s) is at the top of your “must try” list?

I have a few restaurants on my “must try” list! I’ve heard great things about both The Keep & The Whitney House, so I have my eye on those two. I definitely have to make my way over there in the next few weeks.

  1. What’s (and where) the most memorable meal/dish you had recently?

I recently visited Mezzo and let me tell ya – the short rib gnocchi tastes like heaven! They pan sear the gnocchi, instead of boiling it, so it stays crispy and the short rib is so tender. I couldn’t say enough good things about this meal!

  1. Give us the inside scoop — what’s your favorite happy hour, hole in the wall, or hidden gem in Columbus?

My favorite hole in the wall is Huong’s Vietnamese Restaurant on Morse Road. I love coming here with my family for authentic Asian food. They have a killer Pho and Vermicelli Noodle Bowl! I live for Pho Dac Biet, which is my absolute favorite food ever.

  1. What is your favorite locally made food product?

Well, potato chips are my favorite snack so naturally I am in love with OH! Potato Chips. They’re so crunchy and have great flavors – I’m a big fan of the roasted garlic parmesan.

  1. Some of us are not full-time bloggers. If you are not, what is your “real” job?

This past spring, I graduated from The Ohio State University with an accounting degree. Now I work at Deloitte, as part of their audit and assurance practice! However, I would love to be a food-blogger full time.

  1. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!

I love working out and being active – I need to do something to balance out all this food I’m eating! In my free time I love going to the gym, running outside, and doing yoga.

Thanks Cait! Be sure to check our her Instagram and Facebook.
