Did you know that CbusFoodBloggers consists of over 50 different bloggers/instagrammers? Some of us you may already stalk follow, and others you haven’t yet had the chance to meet! In an effort to help our readers get to know us and the bloggers behind our group, we conduct monthly interview highlighting one of our members. This month, we have Christina Steiner from Chef_Tina_614!

  1. How did you become a food blogger? What is the theme of your blog/IG?

I became a food instagrammer because I truly love cooking and exploring the Columbus food scene. I wanted to share recipes with the world and hopefully inspire a few people to cook. My Instagram is filled with easy to follow recipes and some of my favorite foods from Columbus restaurants.

  1. What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself or others?

My favorite thing in the entire world to cook is Tuscan Bolognese Sauce. It takes four hours to make and you can literally taste the love and effort put into the sauce. It’s what I make for life’s events, sad or happy, big or small – making this sauce is my favorite way to show someone I care.

  1. What makes the Columbus food scene great? Or what would you change?

The Columbus food scene is amazing because there are so many different types of food accessible to us. Columbus is a really diverse city with many rich cultures – I think everyone should celebrate that with eating all of the delicious food around the city.

  1. What restaurant(s) is at the top of your “must try” list?

Right now, I’m dying to visit the Lincoln Social rooftop bar. I’ve also been seeing some amazing food from The Sycamore on Instagram, so hoping to make a trip there soon! Outside of Columbus, I’m trying to visit one of Darrio Cecchini’s restaurants this winter in Italy, and Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana is near the top of my bucket list.

  1. What’s (and where) the most memorable meal/dish you had recently?

I was recently at The Guild House and ordered their Lobster Toast. It’s so delicious and perfectly captures the essence of springtime in a dish. Would definitely recommend!

  1. Give us the inside scoop — what’s your favorite happy hour, hole in the wall, or hidden gem in Columbus?

My favorite happy hour is Forno – it’s an amazing deal with all drinks, apps, and pizzas half off, and the food had never, ever disappointed me. I’m a HUGE fan of their Ahi Tuna Tacos, too. This was my go-to “nice” happy hour in college with my friends, and it’s still one of my favorite spots.

  1. What is your favorite locally made food product?

Graeter’s Ice Cream – who can resist those huge chocolate chunks?

  1. Some of us are not full-time food bloggers. If you are not, what is your “real” job?

I’m definitely not a full-time food blogger – my day job is being a financial services technology consultant. I specialize in the insurance industry and help clients with large transformational software projects. It’s pretty stressful, so cooking has become my stress reliever and my creative outlet.

  1. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!

I married my high school sweetheart last year! During our marriage prep, we had to fill out a questionnaire, and one of the questions was “What’s your favorite activity to do together?” Our first instinct was to say “eat” and that’s what we wrote. I guess those that eat together, stay together.

Thanks Christina! Be sure to check our her Instagram.
