Did you know that CbusFoodBloggers consists of over 50 different bloggers/instagrammers? Some of us you may already
stalk follow, and others you haven’t yet had the chance to meet! In an effort to help our readers get to know us and the bloggers behind our group, we conduct monthly interview highlighting one of our members. This month, we have Hannah Green from Visit Explore Repeat and Columbus Date Night Guide!
- How did you become a food blogger? What is the theme of your blog/IG?
I just moved up here from Orlando, FL and my Instagram used to be @lovecentralfl. I started that account because I always feel like Orlando gets a bad rap and is only known for their theme parks. I wanted to show how Orlando is more than just theme parks and how I grew to love Orlando. I focused on everything and would just post about whatever I was doing with my friends. But, because I love to eat, a lot of what I took pictures of was food and/or food spaces. I also like to keep it real, so sometimes I will post about personal experiences as well. When I moved to Ohio I wanted to create a more general name, so I did not have to always post about that city or state (we all know it would’ve been super easy to change it to @lovecentraloh). Honestly, I just want to show all the cool stuff there is to do wherever I am at the time. And most of the time, that’s food!
- What is your favorite thing to cook for yourself or others?
Does pizza in the oven count? I honestly am not a cook. Most of what I cook is very simple and something I’ve been cooking for years. If I try to make a new recipe it normally takes me double the time! Cooking more new recipes on a weekly basis is actually a goal of mine for this new journey in my life. If I do anything well, it’s baking, so I guess cookies!
- What makes the Columbus food scene great? Or what would you change?
Well, even though I grew up here, everything has changed. So, it’s all new-to-me and I think that’s what makes it great! Ask me in a year and I’ll have a better answer for you!
- What restaurant(s) is at the top of your “must try” list?
I’m really excited to try Hot Chicken Takeover, just because I’ve hear so much about it and I like fried chicken! I think everyone who comes to Columbus should eat at Condado Tacos, I may be a bit obsessed!
- What’s (and where) the most memorable meal/dish you had recently?
Driving up from Florida this summer I stopped in Columbia, SC. There I ate at Cantina 76 and had their AMAZING Dirty Queso.- queso, refried beans, pico de gallo, roasted chicken, sour cream, red chili sauce, and sriracha. I might go back to Columbia just to eat that again.
- Give us the inside scoop — what’s your favorite happy hour, hole in the wall, or hidden gem in Columbus?
Ask me in a year! But, I imagine it will be anywhere I can walk to and/or wherever I become a “regular/local.” I love to go to the same place and get to know the people who work there and also attend regularly. There’s just something to say about a place where everyone knows your name.
- What is your favorite locally made food product?
The Cheesecake Girl. I’m a cheesecake lover, so I’ve been following her from Florida since basically the beginning. I’m lucky I don’t live close to one of her regular shops!
- Some of us are not full-time food bloggers. If you are not, what is your “real” job?
I am a high school media specialist (a.k.a. a librarian) at Columbus City Schools.
- Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!
I love breweries and beer flights! I have tried over 900 beers in the past 3 years.
